Welcome to the World of Performing Arts

                     CHANDIGARH SANGEET NATAK AKADEMI
                                   From Chairman's Desk

The present team of Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi has successfully completed six years of its term. These years were indeed fulfilling for Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi in achieving its aims and objectives and to translate them into ground realities. New initiatives were taken by starting Annual Chandigarh Theatre Festival, Annual Music & Dance Festival and Workshops, Annual Programme for senior citizens, Annual Classical Music Festival on the occasion of Basant, in addition to Seminars and discussions on various issues related to the  Performing Arts.

Apart from regular Music, Theatre, Dance performances by both professional and amateur artists- Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi has worked with children from slums and pavements. Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi is committed to promote the rich cultural heritage of performing arts of our country by specially targeting young people. In this endeavor, I would like to invite suggestions from various NGOS, practitioners and connoisseurs of Art and Culture for improving and strengthening our resolve and capacity in making Chandigarh as a cultural capital of North India.
I would like to add that strengthening of Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi as music, dance and theatre akademi of excellence is our aim and we need active participation and co-operation of all the citizens of this region.
I am grateful to the UT Administration, Department of Cultural Affairs, Haryana, Central Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and ever encouraging media and people of the tricity and all the members of the General Council of Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi in providing whole hearted support to all our  projects.
